Karim Mourtada

A lawyer at the Paris Bar, he has recognized expertise in structuring international transactions, project financing, and providing strategic support to institutional, industrial, and financial actors. His professional career, developed within leading international law firms, has led him to work on complex cross-border transactions and advise organizations operating in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

A French-Lebanese national based in Casablanca, Karim Mourtada has a particular interest in the geopolitical, economic, and regulatory dynamics shaping relations between Europe, the Mediterranean, and the African continent. His approach combines solid legal and financial expertise with an in-depth understanding of governance, economic development, and international cooperation issues.

Within the IIEG, he actively contributes to the development of the Institute’s international partnerships and to enhancing its visibility among institutional, academic, and economic actors. He also participates in the production of strategic analyses focusing on regulatory transformations, economic changes, and contemporary geopolitical challenges.

At the head of the Conflict Prevention & Resolution Division, he supports the development of initiatives dedicated to anticipating crises, promoting strategic dialogue, and seeking solutions that foster stability, cooperation, and peace. His work is part of an approach aimed at strengthening the Institute’s analytical and mediation capacities in the face of the complex challenges of the contemporary world.

A graduate of EDHEC Business School (Grande École Programme) and holder of a Master’s degree in Business Law from the Catholic University of Lille, Karim Mourtada is recognized for his rigor, strategic vision, and ability to address legal, economic, and geopolitical issues from a cross-disciplinary perspective.
