The IIEG Academic Pole brings together researchers and doctoral students who combine scientific excellence with geopolitical analysis.
Turning knowledge into impact
Amid profound geopolitical, technological, social and environmental transformations reshaping the world, knowledge is more than ever a lever for understanding, sovereignty and peace.
The Academic Pole of the International Institute of Geopolitical Studies (IIEG) is designed to serve as the scientific and academic platform of the Institute, creating a link between research, training, innovation, foresight and international cooperation. Its ambition is not to replace existing universities and academic institutions, but to create a complementary international space for reflection, transmission, experimentation and cooperation, capable of transforming knowledge production into concrete initiatives and actionable recommendations.
The Academic Pole develops a transdisciplinary approach around six priority axes:
Studying and strengthening the role of education in conflict prevention, global citizenship, intercultural and interfaith dialogue, combating radicalisation, hate speech, disinformation and polarisation.
Analysing issues related to knowledge sovereignty, inequalities in access to knowledge, educational reconstruction in crisis contexts, academic mobility, as well as scientific and university diplomacy.
Exploring the transformations driven by artificial intelligence in higher education and research, while examining its ethical dimensions, digital sovereignty, the digital divide, disinformation and evolving skills.
Making languages, translation, heritage, cultural diversity and intercultural mediation instruments of mutual understanding and rapprochement between societies.
Developing, in cross-cutting collaboration with the other IIEG poles, work dedicated notably to the links between water, education and peace, the consequences of climate change on educational systems, migration, youth and skills needed for ecological transition.
Anticipating major changes to come: the future of work, tomorrow's professions, demographic shifts, new technologies, new forms of citizenship, 21st-century skills and the transformation of universities.
The Academic Pole intends to progressively federate an International Academic Network of the IIEG, bringing together universities, grandes écoles, research centres, laboratories, academies, researchers and experts.
This dynamic should foster joint research projects, co-authored publications, international conferences, doctoral seminars, researcher mobility, training programmes and joint responses to international calls for proposals.
"To build and share knowledge across different regions of the world rather than reproduce a logic of unidirectional transfer."
Through its "Young Researchers and Doctoral Students" programme, the Pole aims to create spaces enabling the new generation of researchers to develop their work, integrate international networks and contribute to the Institute's strategic reflections.
